The Vossloh DE 18 is the modern European standard for heavy shunting and mainline freight. For Millet Rail, the move to independent traction began with a specific batch of DE 18s. Unlike newer leased units, these locomotives feature a distinct orange livery—a nod to their original history with the Colas Rail fleet.
Robust and versatile, these ex-Colas units support Millet’s growing grain and aggregate business, proving perfectly suited for hauling heavy cereal hopper trains. For the modeller, the DE 18 is the ideal "bridge" locomotive, equally at home on the main line or performing precision shunting at a silo siding.
